The conventional attendance problems still plaguing HR teams
Thousands of companies are still wrestling with the same issues: employees clocking in for absent colleagues, attendance data that must be manually reconciled every month, and field staff who are nearly impossible to monitor because they work far from the office.
Even fingerprint machines aren't the perfect fix. Long lines at the scanner during peak clock in times, sensors that constantly misread dry or wet fingers, and the inability to track field employees are complaints that echo from one HR team to the next.
A 2024 HRM Association survey found that 67% of companies admitted to having employees who buddy-punched at least once a month. Of that 67%, 40% said it happened every single week. The damage isn't just financial it's a matter of fairness to the honest employees who show up on time every day.
That's why Zayeen built its attendance module from the ground up around one core premise: an attendance system that truly cannot be gamed yet comfortable enough for daily use without getting in the way.
Facial attendance: the technology that ends buddy punching
Face recognition in Zayeen is far more than a selfie. The system uses liveness detection technology the ability to distinguish a real, live human face from a photo, video, or mask so attempting to check in by showing a picture of someone else will never work.
Enrollment is straightforward: employees register their face once via the app or kiosk, and the system immediately builds a secure biometric model. During check-in, the entire verification process takes less than two seconds.
Scanning face…
The system prompts users to perform a random movement (blinking, turning their head) before verification, ensuring the person checking in is a real individual in front of the camera not a photograph or pre recorded video.
Employee facial data is stored as an encrypted mathematical template, not a photo. This template cannot be converted back into an image and is stored on Zayeen's servers with AES-256 encryption.
Zayeen's facial model remains accurate in low-light conditions, with glasses, a hijab, or a face that looks slightly different from the enrollment photo with a false accept rate below 0.001%.
GPS tracking: real locations, not fabricated ones
For field employees sales reps, technicians, drivers, or construction crews facial attendance alone isn't enough. What's needed is proof that they're genuinely at the assigned location when they clock in.
Zayeen combines GPS tracking with geofencing: HR administrators define valid work zones (a set radius around an office, warehouse, or project site), and the system automatically rejects any check-in attempted outside that zone.
GPS Tracking — Real-Time Field Attendance
Core GPS features in Zayeen
Multi-Location
Register as many branches, warehouses, and project sites as needed under a single account
Anti-GPS Spoofing
Detects fake location attempts and automatically blocks suspicious devices
Travel History
Records field employee movement throughout working hours for audits and business travel claims
Zayeen's GPS tracking is only active during configured working hours. Outside of work hours, the app does not record location. Employees can also view their own location data at any time, ensuring full transparency between the company and its staff.
Two access modes: personal phone or office kiosk
Zayeen is designed for two distinct but equally common scenarios: mobile employees who need to check in from anywhere, and employees who report to the same office or factory every day.
Personal Phone
Mobile AppDownload the Zayeen app on Android or iOS, then complete face verification and check in directly from your smartphone. Ideal for field employees, remote workers, or any mobile team.
- Check in from anywhere within a valid GPS zone
- Check-in and check-out reminders
- View your own attendance history
Office Kiosk
Office ComputerA computer or tablet mounted at the entrance of an office, factory, or warehouse. Employees simply stand in front of the screen, their face is recognized, and attendance is recorded. No touching required.
- No personal smartphone required
- Zero-queue check-in — under 2 seconds per person
- Display shift info, HR announcements, and work schedules
- Offline mode — data syncs automatically when connectivity is restored
Attendance data from both phones and kiosks feeds into the same HR dashboard in real time. No separate spreadsheets, no lost records.
